Al-Azhar's support for Niger in the religious, scientific and intellectual fields.
The Grand Imam received a. Dr.. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, at the headquarters of the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar, Mr. El-Hamadou Adamou Souli, Minister of Interior of Niger, and his accompanying delegation; To discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation and Al-Azhar's support for Niger in the religious, scientific and intellectual fields.His Eminence the Grand Imam welcomed the Nigerian minister and the accompanying delegation to Al-Azhar, stressing Al-Azhar’s pride in its historical relationship with Niger, a relationship that was strengthened by the presence of two Azhar institutes in Niger, the Jota Institute and the Al-Anwar Institute, in addition to Al-Azhar’s envoys deployed in government schools in Niger. who teach Arabic and Islamic sciences.The Grand Imam stressed the importance that Al-Azhar attaches to the peoples of the African continent, reviewing Al-Azhar's strategy to meet the needs of the peoples of the continent and advance its resources, and to provide opportunities for its children to study at Al-Azhar to study medicine, pharmacy, engineering and other applied sciences, along with Islamic sciences, as well as designing specialized training programs to combat extremism; To suit the challenges of each country in the continent, through the Al-Azhar International Academy for the training of imams and preachers.
