The International Islamic Council for Call and Relief is a global coordinating organization whose idea was crystallized more than twenty-five years ago, in a meeting held in the office of the Grand Imam, Sheikh of Al-Azhar / Sheikh Jad Al-Haq Ali Gad Al-Haq - may God have mercy on him.
The meeting discussed the importance of coordination between workers in the general Islamic work in the fields of advocacy and relief, which is carried out by many organizations all over the world, lacking the required coordination, which leads to duplication and waste of efforts, because each party sees that it has roots rooted in Islamic work and keeps the information for itself, and the thinking was It focuses on how to coordinate in order to exchange experiences and information, provide capabilities, and benefit from common experiences, to give Islamic work strength, through a body concerned with coordination and has an international standing in the Islamic world and beyond.
The leaders of the participating bodies in the eleventh conference of the Islamic Research Academy unanimously decided to establish a body called the “International Islamic Council for Call and Relief.”
It was agreed to set the statute of the council, and a proposal was made to invite the major bodies working in the fields of advocacy and relief, whose names were mentioned as founding bodies, to hold the meeting of the first constituent body. Egypt, and he shall have the official legal capacity and prestige under the chairmanship of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
The procedures were carried out in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the signing of the headquarters agreement, the issuance of the republican decision, and the approval of the People's Assembly on this decision, approving the agreement regulating the relationship between the Council and the Egyptian state.
The member bodies that participated in the establishment of this council were granted the right to join its membership, carry out its business and establish projects in Egypt, and benefit from the agreement of the headquarters country.
In this regard, we thank God Almighty, that the Council has become an edifice of high standing and effectiveness among the members who joined its membership during the last period.
