Dr. Muhammad Sayed Tantawi
Sheikh: Muhammad Sayed Tantawi (may God have mercy on him) was born in Sohag Governorate (1347/1928), he joined the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion, Al-Azhar University, and graduated from it (1958), then obtained a doctorate in interpretation and hadith in the year (1966), then was appointed Mufti of Egypt: ( 1986), then he was chosen as Sheikh of Al-Azhar Mosque (1996) after the death of Sheikh Jad Al-Haq Ali Gad Al-Haq - may God have mercy on them - to be the forty-seventh imam who assumed the sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Mosque, and assumed the presidency of the World Islamic Council for Call and Relief from (1996) until his death (2010 AD).
