He was born in the Sudanese city of El Obeid in 1935 AD.
- The former President of the Republic of Sudan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Islamic Call Organization - Khartoum, and was elected Vice-President of the International Islamic Council for Call and Relief on September 21, 1988.
He held several positions in the Sudanese army until he reached the position of Minister of Defense, then President of the Sudanese Republic, in April 1985, and until his handover of power in 1986, after which he retired from political work to devote himself to the work of Islamic preaching, through the Islamic Dawa Organization, as Secretary-General of the Board of Trustees. He participated in many local and international conferences interested in volunteering and Islamic advocacy, founder of East Nile University College, and one of the contributors to the establishment of Omdurman National University. He is a member of eleven international Islamic institutions, and he won the King Faisal International Prize for those who rendered outstanding services to the Islamic faith in 2004 AD.
The first to hold the position of Vice-President of the International Islamic Council for Call and Relief in Cairo.
He died - may God have mercy on him - in October 2018 AD in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the age of 83, and was buried in Medina, in implementation of his will.. God Almighty have mercy on him.
